WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s lunch with hip-hop artist Kanye West will take place at 12:30 EDT Thursday and will include NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown, according to the White House.
The sit-down, to be held in the Oval Office, was not previously listed on the president’s public schedule, although the White House had said Trump planned to meet with West this week.
The three will be joined by White House aides Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, the president’s daughter and son-in-law.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley said a myriad of policy concerns will be on the agenda.
“The discussion will be centered on President Trump’s historic work to benefit all Americans such as urban revitalization, the creation of Opportunity Zones, new workforce training programs, record highs in African-American employment, the creation of manufacturing jobs, ideas from his meeting with African-American pastors, potential future clemencies, and addressing the massive violent crime surge in Chicago,” Gidley said in a statement.
As for the menu, that will include a caprese salad with balsamic glaze followed by roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes and sautéed asparagus.
