Wexton defeats Comstock in Virginia; Democrats flip first House seat

WASHINGTON — Democrat Jennifer Wexton has defeated Republican incumbent Barbara Comstock in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District, the first House Republican to fall in the 2018 midterms.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Wexton has won 55 percent of the vote in Virginia’s northernmost district, garnering 174,021 votes to Comstock’s 142,278.

Comstock was seeking her third term in office.
