WASHINGTON – Fewer than half of Americans approve of President Donald Trump’s job performance, according to a poll released Monday.

The Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll found that 47% of the respondents said they think Trump is doing a good job and 52% said they do not think he is doing a good job.

Moreover, 34% said they strongly approve of Trump’s job performance and 41% said they strongly disapprove.

The survey included 1,500 likely voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

Monday’s poll results are fairly consistent with Trump’s approval rating for the past month, which according to Rasmussen projections has ranged from 44% to 50%.

A CNN/SSRS poll released on Sunday showed Trump’s approval rating at 43%.

That survey included 1,006 respondents and was carried out May 28-31. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

Barack Obama had an approval rating that ranged from 43%-45% at roughly the same point in his presidency, according to Gallup.
