WASHINGTON – With just 59 days until Election Day, President Donald Trump continues his fundraising blitz to prop up endangered House Republicans. In the six weeks through the end of September, President Trump will have attended eight rallies and 16 fundraisers.
Democrats need to win 23 seats to win the House.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) agrees to reopen the confirmation hearings of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court after several of his GOP committee members revolt, and despite Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) calling it an “Intergalactic Freakshow.”

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) says of the accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, “I would have voted ‘no’ absent her being able to tell her story.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who is facing a tight senate reelection bid, says of Ford’s accusations, “These allegations are serious and deserve to be treated with respect.”

The senior Texas senator, Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas), says of the decision, “I applaud Chairman Grassley for immediately initiating the committee process for situations like this, which respects confidentiality.”

A hearing with both accuser and accused is scheduled for Monday.
