Senate Arms committee approves Fanning for Army Sec., moves to full chamber vote

WASHINGTON (Talk Media News) – The Senate Armed Services Committee approved the nomination of Eric Fanning to be Secretary of the U.S. Army on Thursday where the proposal will move forwarded to the full Senate for a final vote.

Fanning would be the 22nd Secretary of the Army and the first openly gay man in the highest military position if approved by the full Senate.

He has served as acting Under Secretary of the Army and Chief Management Officer nominated by President Obama.
