WASHINGTON – Liberal comedian and Late Show host Stephen Colbert condemned left-wing activists Thursday for having staged a rowdy protest outside the home of conservative Fox News talk show host Tucker Carlson.
Fighting Tucker Carlson’s ideas is an American right. Targeting his home and terrorizing his family is an act of monstrous cowardice. Obviously don’t do this, but also, take no pleasure in it happening. Feeding monsters just makes more monsters.

The Washington Post reported that Wednesday evening protestors associated with Smash Racism D.C., otherwise known as Antifa, led a protest outside Carlson’s Washington, D.C. home. The group included about 20 people, according to a D.C. police lieutenant who spoke with the Post.
The Post discovered since-deleted Twitter posts and videos related to the incident. Once such video featured a protestor holding a bullhorn and shouting: “Tucker Carlson, we are outside your home.” The protestor accused Carlson of being a purveyor of hate and alleged the talk show host purports “an ideology that has led to thousands of people dying.”
Carlson was notified of a suspicious developing incident via text around 6 p.m. as he was preparing for his 8 p.m. show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, according to the Post.
Carlson told the Post that upon being notified he immediately called his wife. Carlson said his wife told him she heard someone pounding on the front door. Carlson said his wife told him the pounding was so loud that the front door “actually cracked.”
Carlson told the Post of the incident: “It wasn’t a protest. It was a threat.”
Carlson is a frequent target of criticism among progressives. He has made controversial remarks related to issues such as immigration and changing demographics.
