CAPITOL HILL – That was Rep. Joaquin Castro of Texas speaking to a rally of Democratic lawmakers outside a border control holding facility in Clint, Texas. After recounting how immigrants held by Border Control don’t have clean water and are drinking water out of toilets, he told of a private Facebook group composed of Border Patrol agents, calling them scumbags, making jokes about migrant deaths and posting sexist comments.

President Donald Trump was asked about the Border Patrol agents’ Facebook page. He called the agents “patriots” and turned it into a problem with Democrats:

Looking forward, Washington, D.C. is planning for a massive July 4th celebration, rebranded by Trump as “A Salute to America” with fireworks, tanks and planes with a huge counter-protest, including the baby Trump blimp, USS John McCain supporters, and the original flag-burner, Gregory Lee Johnson. He won a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case protecting flag burning. Johnson declares of Trump, “I am going to D.C. on the Fourth of July and I’m going to burn the flag in protest [of his] whole fascist agenda.”
