WASHINGTON— In a series of tweets Monday, President Donald Trump offered both praise and scorn to former associates caught up in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Trump said Michael Cohen, who served as his longtime personal attorney, should receive “a full and complete sentence” in prison.

Cohen pleaded guilty on Friday to lying to Congress about a proposed Trump-branded real estate development in Moscow.

While Trump said Cohen did “TERRIBLE, unrelated to Trump, things having to do with fraud, big loans, Taxis, etc,” Cohen previously pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations in which he said Trump directed him to pay off two women in order to sway the 2016 election.

Cohen is cooperating into Mueller’s probe into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government and has filed a plea agreement to ensure a shortened sentence.

Trump took a strikingly different tone in a separate tweet related to his former associate and political adviser Roger Stone, who has taken a combative stance in relation to the Mueller probe.

He capped off his tweets on the topics with a broadside against Mueller.
